    André Marcoux, P. Eng., is a Partner and Principal of the Firm. He is the Director of the Building Science and Special Projects Departments. André joined Cleland Jardine Engineering Limited in 1997, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge in many different fields of consulting, contracting and project administration. He has over 30 years of experience in the local construction and engineering industry. He is familiar with project standards and procurement issues for public and private sector projects. Prior to joining Cleland Jardine Engineering Limited, Mr. Marcoux held the position of Project Manager with a local construction firm and prior to this, headed all fieldwork for a large Structural consulting firm.

    André Marcoux is a Professional Engineer licensed under the Professional Engineers of Ontario and Québec. André has designed structures and provided project management services for private and public projects, offices, laboratories, hospitals, commercial, and, residential buildings. Working closely with owners, consultants and building owners, his emphasis is to ensure that the necessary aspects of that particular project are being carried out in a timely and cost effect manner.

    Mr. Marcoux is fully bilingual in both official languages and holds a proficiency certificate from “Office de la Langue Française du Québec”.

    Matthew Jaynes is a Partner and the Manager of the Building Science Department. Since joining the firm in 1998, he has completed hundreds of projects and has extensive experience in life cycle analysis, building investigations and problem solving applied to the repair, restoration or rehabilitation of existing buildings and building envelope components.

    Matthew Jaynes is a Certified Engineering Technologist registered with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists. He has over 15 years of comprehensive experience in building science and building restoration, providing professional services to both public and private sector clientele. In 2005, Matthew became part of the partnership core of Cleland Jardine Engineering Limited, joining Michael Cleland, Robert Jardine, André Marcoux, Brian Johnson and Rob Nevin.

    As the Manager of the Building Science Department, Mr. Jaynes provides leadership to a motivated and select team of individuals committed to helping building owners plan for and address a wide range of building related issues.

    Robert Jardine, P. Eng., is a Partner and the Chief Operating Officer of the Firm. He is responsible for overseeing all of the building investigation and repair projects from start to finish. He is directly involved with the structural design and analysis, preparation of documents and contract administration services. He is familiar with project standards and procurement issues for public and private sector projects.

    Mr. Jardine is a Professional Engineer licensed under the Professional Engineers of Ontario. He has 30 years of in-depth experience in the investigation and restoration of building components including cladding systems, parking garages, foundations, balconies and windows. He has extensive experience in the performance of structural failure analysis, I & R studies, envelope investigation/repair, and building condition reports. He has also been responsible for numerous pre-purchase inspections, reserve fund studies, and, technical audits.

    He has been responsible for well over 2,000 structural investigation projects including pre-purchase inspections, reserve fund studies/technical audits and restoration of cladding systems, balconies, parking garages and general structural components.

    Robert Nevin, P. Eng., is an Associate Manager in the New Construction Department and is responsible for the coordination of the field/construction services. He has in-depth experience in the renovation and construction of new and existing structures for educational facilities, commercial buildings, laboratories, recreational facilities, hospitals and other mission-critical facilities.

    A Professional Engineer licensed under the Professional Engineers of Ontario, Mr. Nevin has an in-depth knowledge of construction techniques and methodologies and has either performed or supervised numerous construction projects since joining the firm in 1997. Mr. Nevin provides or assists in all field investigation services in advance of design development to confirm existing structural framing, identify potential construction issues, and identify potential areas requiring additional testing or investigation. If required, he assists in the coordination of any required sub-consultant or sub-contractor services. He also provides or coordinates all structural field review services during the construction phase.

    Managing the field services for the department’s new construction and renovation work, he works closely with owners, consultants, and contractors throughout the construction phases of the project. His emphasis is placed on ensuring that the structural components are constructed in an efficient and correct manner and that any site conditions are dealt with on an immediate basis so as to not adversely affect the construction schedule or costs.

    Brian Johnson, P. Eng., BDS, is a Partner and the Manager of the New Construction Department. Since joining the firm in 1996, he has completed hundreds of projects and has extensive experience in the investigation, structural design, analysis, and modeling of reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry, and timber systems (separately and in combined/hybrid uses) in both new and renovation projects (including horizontal and vertical expansions).

    A Professional Engineer and a certified Building Design Specialist licensed under the Professional Engineers of Ontario, Mr. Johnson has years of in-depth experience in the performance of standing offer projects, renovation and expansions of existing buildings, structural studies, as well as, the structural design for educational facilities, residences, offices, laboratories and other mission critical facilities. He also has completed numerous building structural assessments and seismic evaluations of existing buildings.

    As the Partner-in-Charge/Lead Structural Engineer on many of the firm’s large projects, Mr. Johnson understands the importance of communication, preparation, and coordination to the success of a project, especially those that are complex and need to be performed in a timely and efficient manner to meet the client and team objectives and budgets.

    Ryan Munden, P. Eng., is a Partner, Project Manager, and Senior Structural Engineer in the New Construction Department. His experience and technical expertise are essential in performing his day to day responsibilities that include the structural engineering, preparation of construction documents and overseeing of construction services and site reviews of several projects.

    Joining Cleland Jardine Engineering Limited in 2002 after obtaining a Bachelor of Applied Science, Civil Engineering from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. He has extensive experience in the structural design and analysis of reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry, wood and aluminum systems. He is fluent in both English and French and with the support of staff, has completed projects in both official languages. Through day to day correspondence with owners and consultants, he applies his knowledge of current building codes with his experience using current structural design software to provide efficient, innovative structural designs.

    Adam Corbin has 9 years in the construction industry as an envelope consultant. Since joining the firm in 2010, Mr. Corbin has focused on the investigation and resolution of building envelope problems. He is certified in the use of a thermal imaging camera and is experienced with the use of a wide variety of testing equipment. Combining these skills with his experience, Adam is able to function effectively in the detection and resolution of building envelope issues.

    Mr. Nicholson has in-depth experience in creating AutoCAD and REVIT drawings and details for both new and renovation projects. He joined the team at Cleland Jardine Engineering Limited in 2007.

    Brent Weatherdon joined Cleland Jardine Engineering Limited in 2006. Brent is the Manager of the Special Projects Department. He is a Professional Engineer licensed under the Professional Engineers of Ontario. He has widespread knowledge and in-depth experience in structural design, analysis and review of steel structures, reinforced concrete structures as well as wood and masonry structures. Brent specializes in the analysis and review of individual structural elements with an emphasis on unique and atypical building modifications and renovations. He has the technical experience and interpersonal skills that are a valued asset of every team.

    Cameron Flude joined Cleland Jardine Engineering Limited in 2012 and is a Professional Engineer licensed under the Professional Engineers of Ontario. Prior to joining Cleland Jardine Engineering Limited, Cameron provided structural engineering services for a consulting firm in the Kingston area. Cameron provides design and review services and takes the lead role on many projects. Cameron also specializes in computer modeling of structures.

    Mr. Collier joined the firm in 2016 bringing with him over a decade of experience in the local construction industry where he worked on projects involving both new construction and renovation/retrofit.  Providing contract administration and field review services, Chris prides himself on his attention to detail, timeliness, communication skills, and his ability to work with constructors on site.  A problem solver, Chris always works closely with the Engineering and Construction teams to be proactive and ensure that construction projects are completed on time, on budget and in accordance with the construction documents.

As a project manager and senior structural engineer his focus is on client interface, accuracy of design & details, as well as, specification writing and tendering.

    David Moore is a Senior Specialist in the Building Science Department.  He joined Cleland Jardine Engineering in 2014.  Mr. Moore has over 30 years of experience in the fields of exterior envelope engineering and architecture, with 15 years in senior positions.  Mr. Moore is skilled in project management, in design and contract documentation as well as in field investigation and quality control.  Mr. Moore has been directly involved in the preparation of numerous building envelope restoration projects, including but not limited to modern and historic masonry, curtain wall and skylight systems as well as roofing and waterproofing systems.

    Eric Richer is a graduate engineering technologist from La Cité Collégiale. Eric returned to school and received his civil engineering degree from the University of Ottawa.  Eric joined Cleland Jardine Engineering Ltd. in 2014.  Prior to joining Cleland Jardine Engineering Ltd., Eric was employed for 8 years with a local consulting firm providing engineering services.  Eric provides structural engineering design and review services for the Special Projects Department.

    George Di Giovanni, M. Eng., P. Eng., ing., is a structural engineer with over 35 years of experience in structural analysis and design, as well as, the rehabilitation of structures and contract administration. George is fully bilingual and is a licensed engineer in the provinces of Ontario and Québec. Since joining the firm in November 2013, he has been active in the structural design and contract administration for a multitude of buildings involving all types of construction materials.

    Working in the local industry as a CO-OP student between 2014 and 2016, Jennifer joined the firm full time in 2016.  Already having completed work on new construction, renovation projects, and seismic studies on international building sites she has in-depth knowledge in the analysis of buildings for both gravity and lateral (seismic and wind) loads.  A problem-solver and fluently bilingual Jennifer welcomes the challenges of complex projects with demanding schedules.

He is also a valued mentor for fellow employees.

She has also worked as a Field Engineer-in-Training to broaden her knowledge on construction methodologies & practices, and the practical application of structural engineering solutions.

    Nastooh joined the firm in 2014 after working as a Project Engineer/Manager for Engineering Firms and Constructors both in Canada and abroad.  Bringing over a decade of experience, Nastooh’s primary roll with CJE is in contract administration and field review.  He has extensive experience in the inspection & investigation of structural steel, reinforced concrete, wood, and masonry construction projects. He has also in construction management of restoration projects.  He is also regularly is called upon to perform building investigations and site surveys.  On all his projects he focuses on accuracy, communication, and ensuring that he works in a way that positively contributes to the completion of the construction.

    Rachel Gullage has been with the firm since 2016.  Rachel graduated from Carleton University with a Bachelor of Engineering, with her primary focus in Architectural Conservation & Sustainability.  Previous to Cleland Jardine, Rachel was a Junior Field Engineer creating construction documents for the restoration of various public, commercial and residential structures.  Rachel has an extremely professional demeanor with the ability to work efficiently on multiple tasks aided by her strong attention to detail.

    Joining the firm in 2016, Sahar has over a decade of experience in all facets of building investigation, design, analysis, and contract administration with a multitude of different materials and building types.  Prior to joining the firm she worked as the Senior Field Engineer on many complex renovation and retro-fit projects, as well as, new construction.  Her excellent communication and interpersonal skills make her a valued asset to any project she works on.

She has completed design work in both Canada and Europe and her technical expertise/experience allows her to complete complex projects on schedule with an attention to detail and efficient design solutions.

    Sharon Hagen joined the company in 1993 as the first employee and has been an integral part of its success and growth. An Associate, Sharon ensures that the highest qualities of drafting standards are maintained at all times. As the lead CAD operator on many of the firms large projects she specializes in the coordination of the team’s CAD files and drawings to ensure accuracy in documentation.

He has extensive knowledge in the modeling of buildings for both gravity and lateral (seismic and wind) loads, which he developed in his Master’s Degree which focused on structural and seismic design.

    Wendy Li joined the firm in 2011 and is a Draftsperson/BIM Modeler that works directly with the engineering and consulting team to produce accurate and precise working drawings for the project using AutoCAD and REVIT. Mrs. Li has over 10 years of experience in China, Singapore and Canada and an engineering background that allows her to easily convert design information into CAD inputs.
