CJE served as the structural engineering team for the design and construction of a new 2-storey, plus basement, long-term care facility in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. The structural system was composed of wood framing supported on a concrete podium deck above the basement parking area. Masonry firewalls were utilized to separate the 37,000ft2 floor plate into quadrants that were sized to permit the use of wood framing for an LTC occupancy.
