Address: 100 Laurier Street

Client: Canadian Museum of History

The project involved the large and intricate underground suspended reinforced concrete slab over the landscape podium in front of the museum as well as the access ramps for the buses and car parking below.

Cleland Jardine Engineering carried out a detailed investigation of the podium slab structure, waterproofing and expansion joints. The investigation consisted of visual observations and hammer sounding as well as document review of previous projects and studies.

Following the investigation, a detailed report was issued providing observations as well as recommendations for short term and long-term repairs as well as implementation strategies for maintaining bus and car access and budget costing for the various phases and options.
