  • Canadian Museum of History – Waterproofing

    Gatineau, Quebec

    Cleland Jardine Engineering Ltd has carried out several projects at the Canadian Museum of History (formerly the Canadian Museum of Civilization) to repair or replace the waterproofing and expansion joints in the planters, below the ceremonial drive, below the main Plaza and also along the underground garage wall along Laurier Ave. Our services included investigation, preparation of repair details, preparation of contract documents, assistance with tendering, and contract administration.

  • St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church – Roof Replacement

    Ottawa, Ontario

    St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church was constructed circa 1930’s. The roofing was upgraded from asphalt shingles to new heritage style sheet metal.

    Investigation Services: A full roof evaluation, including an assessment of the existing structural system for modern building code. The evaluation included a feasibility study to add insulation to the church roof, including an analysis of costs and impacts to the building envelope system.

    Project Management Services: Development and administration of tender documents and ongoing site review during roof replacement program. The scope of work included removing the existing roofing, repairing any deteriorated roof sheathing, and installing modern sheet metal roof system. Roofing system, detailing, and aesthetics remained sympathetic to the heritage nature of the building.
