Located at 1095 Carling Avenue in Ottawa, the original building was constructed circa 1984 with 5 levels above grade accommodating medical offices and 5 levels of below grade parking. The building was fully gutted and renovated in 2008 to the current luxury retirement residence occupancy. The approximate gross floor area of the underground garage is 106,600 ft2 and the above grade retirement residence is 73,000 ft2.
Cleland Jardine Engineering Ltd was retained to perform a Building Condition Assessment of the facility. The purpose of the audit was to identify the present condition of the facility and capital cost requirements over 12 years. Items that were reviewed included:
